Meso-cenozoic tectonic evolution of the ziyun-luodian fault in SW China

چکیده

Regional-scale fault systems are important in adjusting intracontinental deformation. Closure of the Paleo-Tethys, Paleo-Pacific subduction, and India-continent-continent collision have all interacted to shape Meso-Cenozoic tectonics South China. The Ziyun-Luodian (ZLF) straddles across Guizhou region southwestern New petrographic structural studies were conducted reveal evolution ZLF regional At least three distinct deformation events identified within zone: During Indosinian orogeny, dextral thrusting occurred along ZLF, accompanied by moderate uplift Guizhou, as evidenced Upper Triassic-Lower Jurassic disconformity. main tectonic framework was established during Yanshanian orogeny. Driven west-dipping subduction (Middle Jurassic-Early Cretaceous), sinistral transpression NE-to N-S-trending fold belts central-eastern NW-striking folds west developed under nearly E-W-directed compression. In late Cenozoic, may undergone strike-slip movement, similar Ailaoshan-Red River shear zone. plays an role accommodating SW

Article history: Received 7 August 2015 Received in revised form 21 January 2016 Accepted 22 January 2016 Available online 23 January 2016 In order to better understand the activity of the Akşehir normal fault in SW Turkey and the associated seismic hazard, we investigated the tectonic geomorphology of a 60-km stretch of the 100-km-long Akşehir fault block. The fault can be separated into seven...

Mesozoic and Cenozoic tectonic evolution of the Shiquanhe area of western Tibet

[1] In the Shiquanhe area of far-western Tibet, midCretaceous strata lie unconformable on ophiolitic melange and Jurassic flysch associated with the Bangong-Nujiang suture zone. On the basis of our mapping and geochronologic studies, we suggest that these Cretaceous strata were shortened by >57% over a north south distance of 50 km during Late Cretaceousearly Tertiary time. The Late Cretaceous ...
